POSITION SUMMARY: Operate existing and new machinery in our production environment to include [but not limited to] the vertical form filler. Will need to conduct basic maintenance on machines as well as preventive maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•1. Run equipment to meet or exceed standard raw ad packaging material scrap and production rates.
•2. Set ups machines and changes set ups as required
•3. Change packaging materials
•4. Mounts supplies as required in hoppers or other feeding devices.
•5. Replenishes packaging supplies, such as film, boxes, cartons, glue ink or labels.
•6. Makes adjustments to the machines as necessary.
•7. Observes operation to detect malfunctions of the machine.
•8. Clears away damaged product containers.
•9. Keeps work area clean, following SOP's and GMP's.
•10. Performs trouble shooting and minor repairs.
•11. Communicates with Production Maintenance regarding mechanical problems and repairs.
•12. Performs preventive maintenance at required intervals.
•13. Checks product specification to ensure correct packaging materials and raw materials are being used and coding is correct.
•14. Continually inspects products to ensure that they are within specification and of high quality i.e. no leaks, proper and accurate lot numbers, monitors and adjust weight control and ensures packages have correct labeling.
•15. Must work safely at all times and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
•16. Maintain cleanliness of warehouse.
•17. Comply with Lancaster Foods LLC policies and procedures.
•18. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•1. HS Diploma or equivalent. Bi-lingual [English/Spanish] is desired, but not required.
•2. Minimum 2 years experience with machines, preferably in a food environment.
•3. Must be at least 18 years of age to work in warehouse. Must be able to stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours.
•4. Must demonstrate proficient PC skills.
•5. Ability to operate a variety of Powered Industrial Equipment.
•6. Obtain Powered Industrial Certification for lift trucks, pallet jacks and man lifts preferred, but not necessary.
•7. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
•8. Must have own transportation.
•9. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include holidays and weekends.
